I have multiple WiFi networks available, and would like to set the order of preference in which they should connect; i.e. each network's priority. This used to be fairly simple in previous versions of Windows, but how can I do this in Windows 10?

Windows 10 shows the priority of your wireless networks in the Settings window. To view the list, head to Settings Network & Internet Wi-Fi Manage Known Networks. This list shows you your saved wireless networks in the order they’re prioritized. In Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10, you can use the interface metric to configure the order of network interfaces. This is different than in previous versions of Windows and Windows Server, which allowed you to configure the binding order of network adapters by using either the user interface or the commands INetCfgComponentBindings::MoveBefore and INetCfgComponentBindings::MoveAfter.
Braiam- Nov 30, 2015 To help optimize how the PC accesses network resources, I occasionally have to modify the Network Provider Order. This is how I do it in Windows 10.
- On Windows 10, when the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled on your device, it'll connect to only one particular network automatically, even if you have multiple connections saved on your computer, and those.

Open an elevated command prompt (Admin). You can do this by pressing the Windows start and x keys and choosing the Command Prompt (Admin) option; and type the following command:
This will display all your available connections, in their present order of preference (those listed at the top are 'preferred' to those at the bottom).
To change the order in which your machine attempts to connect, type (or paste)
remembering to change connectionname to the appropriate name from the listing shown in the results from the first command, and setting the priority to whatever you wish. 'priority=1' means 'top of the list'

rogerdpackNot sure if it belongs here, but might be really useful for others: I came across this question multiple times, so I wrote a small open-source .NET tool for it. Drag & drop networks in order, set autoconnect and autoswitch (autoswitch determines if the netwerk can be disconnected in order to connect to a better alternative). It's a front-end for the netshell commands.

One way is command line as already mentioned in the above answer. Second way that I'm mentioning here is little bit for users who have limited or almost no technical knowledge or administrative access.

Follow these steps to change priority of network.
- Forget all the Wifi Networks - You can easily forget Wifi Network by LEFT clicking on Wifi Connection icon and selecting Network Settings. After that click on Manage Wifi Settings. Scroll to bottom and there you will find all your saved Wifi Networks. Left click on each and every Wifi Network and then further click on Forget button that pops out once you left click on any particular WiFi Network listed there.
- Note that WiFi networks are prioritized in the STACK Way i.e Last Saved Networks Always Proceeds over earlier saved network as the default behavior of Windows.
- Start connecting and saving all networks from the order that you want to connect least i.e save the lower priority network FIRST and then save your particular Wifi Network in the LAST.
After following the above steps you'll see that if all Wifi networks are switched on then your PC/Laptop connects to the Wifi Network that you configured LAST first!

Windows automatically connects you to wireless networks you’ve connected to in the past. If you’re near multiple networks you’ve previously connected to, Windows uses a priority system to choose a Wi-Fi network.
Windows 7 included a graphical tool to manage your wireless network priority. On Windows 8 and 10, though, you can only manage this from the Command Prompt.
How to See the Priority of Your Wireless Networks
Windows 10 shows the priority of your wireless networks in the Settings window. To view the list, head to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage Known Networks.
Network Provider Order
This list shows you your saved wireless networks in the order they’re prioritized. Windows will connect to the wireless network at the top first, if available, and then go down the list. If you could drag and drop wireless networks here, you’d be able to re-order the list. But Windows doesn’t let you.
Change Network Provider Order
If you don’t want Windows to connect you to a wireless network in the future, you can click it here and select “Forget”. Windows won’t automatically connect you to that network unless you choose to connect to it.
How to Change the Priority of Your Wireless Networks
To change the priority manually, you’ll need to use an Administrator Command Prompt. To open one, right-click the Start button and select “Command Prompt (Admin)”.

Run the following command to see a list of your saved Wi-Fi networks in the order of their priority. This will show you the same list you can see in the Settings screen:

For example, the interface name here is “Wi-Fi” and the network we’ve chosen to prioritize is “Remora”.
To prioritize a wireless network, run the following command, replacing “wifi-name” with the name of the Wi-Fi network, “interface-name” with the name of the Wi-Fi interface, and “#” with the priority number you want to place the Wi-Fi network at.
For example, to take the network Remora on interface Wi-Fi and make it priority number one in the list, we’d run the following command:
You can run the netsh wlan show profiles command again and you’ll see the network you’ve chosen to prioritize appears first in the list. The order in the Settings app will also change.
